It doesn't take a genius to understand the value of links. Links are how people (and webcrawlers) find your website. Respectively, the more links you have, the more potential traffic you may bring to your website.

By understanding the value of web directories and how to effectively submit a listing, you could potentially increase the traffic and ranking of yourwebsite.

Why Web Directories?

For starters, web directories can carry a very high PageRank because there are so many page of content for search engine spiders to gobble up. And as you know high PageRank is shared by the hosting site to the website being linked to. One PR7 could potentially bring your site to PR5 status.

Secondly, you'll be getting links on related webpages, hopefully with your targeted keywords in the title and headings of the web directory page. Google gives you points for the following (as it pertains to web directories):

• Linking page has high PageRank
• Linking page has similar content
• Linking page has similar keywords in the Title and H* tags
• Linking page has a file name (.html) with the keywords included.
• and most importantly: link to your site contains the keywords in the link text.

These factors are all qualifiers and most Web Directories meet and exceed these requirements. Don't waste another minute, get yourself in as many of these web directories as possible.

I have started building my own web directories in recent days. Two of them include this Los Angeles Limousine Directory and the companion site, the Orange County Limousine Directory.

Both share the same template, but offer completely unique content. I do need to add some images. Click on "Submit Site" to see how much I charge for a listing. Now imagine a few thousand listings. Even better, imagine a few dozen directories.

Directories are a great way to get high PageRank for your site and if you're a web designer like myself, they are also a fantastic way to make a lot of dough from Internet marketers.
