About Dave Pasternack

The more I think about it, the more I laugh, and I'm not talking about Dave Pasternack, I'm referring to the SEO Contest from how you most-likely found this article. The game involves trying to reach the top of the search results for the name of Did-It Search Marketing's Founder, Dave Pasternack.
Is This About Dave?
No. Okay, well maybe. Is this SEO competition really about discovering who's who in the search engine optimization field or just a farce to get Mr. Dave Pasternack's company some free marketing? I'm more interested in the $1,000 being offered if and when this little post gets to the top of the Google. And maybe for a little name-recognition myself.
Pasternack is way ahead of me in terms of education, having is Masters in Business Finance and several years on me age-wise (sorry Dave). I'm a Bachelor Degree holder myself with less than a decade of Internet experience and less than five years of search engine marketing experience.
Pasternack, Dave: President
Good for you Dave, New York University sounds like a great school and United States Information Corporation appears to have been a fantastic success. But I'm worried about all the horrible JavaScript and the use of tables on your website. I'm also curious about the bold green colors seen at Did-It.com, seems a bit much.
If you're really looking for best practices Dave Pasternack, you should visit my Top 10 SEO Tips, it's filled with great search engine optimization strategies and ten of what I consider to be the most fundamental techniques to gain ranking in the search results.
How Did I Do It?
You're looking at my web page right now wondering I got this horrible CMS-driven page to the top of the search results? My URL doesn't include /dave-pasternack.html, and there's a ton of un-optimized code on my website. So what's the trick? No trick, just some good old-fashioned elbow grease.
All the Best,
